Are You Reaching Your Targeted Demographic?

According to Nielsen’s second-quarter 2016 Connected Device Report, the motivating factor in an ad varies depending on generation. For Millennials, Generation X and Baby Boomers, they are motivated by an ad with a coupon or promotion. However, Generation Z and the Greatest Generation are most motivated by targeted content.

Surprisingly, the recent study found that 42 percent of Generation Zers and 44 percent of Millennials who use smartphones are OK with mobile advertising provided the content they’re engaging is free and their data plan doesn’t take a hit as a result. Another key finding, 32 percent of Generation Z and Millennials are more likely to click on an ad that doesn’t take them outside of the application or redirect them to another website. Convenience is king!
